A lively programme of tours, talks, workshops & demonstrations will bring to life the unique craft & cultural heritage of this truly magical setting, ensuring a fascinating day for young & old alike.

The festival occupies the West Lawn of Salisbury’s soaring medieval cathedral in one of England’s most beautiful architectural enclosures. Not just a stunning backdrop, the cathedral stands centre stage.  With contemporary and heritage talks, tours, workshops and activities alongside the exhibitor marquees, the festival acknowledges the historic craftsmanship evident at every turn, while celebrating the design, ingenuity and skill of contemporary makers.  Visitors can explore the setting, try their hand at the demonstration and workshop stands, and buy from the best in their field.

Emerging talent is encouraged with many local and national makers exhibiting in their first year of business so our visitors are seeing the cutting edge of new design and ensuring an opportunity to show alongside big local names such as Matthew Burt, returning this year with his award-winning furniture, and James Dougall, whose innovative silver-smithing has attracted international attention.

The mix of heritage and contemporary inspiration is a potent one. It looks like the South’s newest contemporary craft event is set to achieve its aim of bringing together great makers and an appreciative audience in a truly complementary and stunning setting.
